Temporary Power Connection for Events
Power supply for events across Northern Tasmania
Every great event depends on more than good food, music, and atmosphere. It also needs safe, reliable power behind the scenes. At Mance Electrical, we provide temporary power supply and set-ups for events across Launceston and Northern Tasmania. We handle everything from small community fundraisers to large-scale festivals.
We provide:
Power planning and consultation
Generator supply and installation
Power distribution equipment
On-site support and monitoring
Safety and compliance
Powered by Mance Electrical
Every event has unique demands, and our job is to make sure your power system supports them without a hitch. We’ve supplied safe temporary power for:

Festivale
Across the weekend, we keep stages, food stalls, and site lighting powered. With everything running steadily in the background, organisers can focus on the festival itself instead of worrying about power.
Beer Festivals
Cool rooms, taps, music gear, and marquee lights stayed on throughout. Drinks stayed cold, the music didn’t cut out, and the crowd could just enjoy the day without any issues.
Women's 5km Run/Walk
We supplied power to the PA system and food stalls. That meant organisers could keep their attention on the runners and make sure the event stayed safe and smooth.
The Soggy Bottom Boat Race
Food vans, PA systems, and site facilities were kept powered as the race moved along. Our setups shifted with the event, making sure there was always power where it was needed.

What’s included in our packages
When you book temporary power with Mance Electrical, you don’t just get a generator dropped off. You get a complete setup designed specifically for events. Every installation includes:
RCD/MCB-Protected distribution boards
Safety is built in with RCD- and MCB-protected distribution boards, available in both 32A three-phase options. We can supply both single – and three-phase outlets for flexible distribution across your site. Every board is tested on-site before handover, so you know the protection devices are working as they should.
Event-grade cabling
All cabling is IP-rated and colour-coded, built for outdoor use and tested before installation. We also provide cable ramps for both pedestrian and vehicle crossings, keeping your site safe and accessible.
Site assessment & load plan
Before the event begins, we visit the site to map out where everything goes. This includes generator placement, earthing, weather protection, and segregation of power zones.
Bump-in / Bump-out crew
Our crew handles delivery, setup, and pack-down. Once installed, we run test sheets and handover checks so organisers know exactly what’s in place. At the end, we safely disconnect, remove gear, and restore the site to how we found it.
Packages & sizing guide
If you are looking for a temporary site power supplier, understanding the size of your event is vital. To make planning easier, we offer packages that suit different event scales:

Small Events (2–8 kVA)
Perfect for community gatherings, fundraisers, or small weddings. Great for events where reliability matters more than scale. This option is also quick to set up and pack down, making it ideal for one-day events.
This setup covers:
- PA systems and microphones
- Lighting for a marquee or stage tent
- Coffee carts or small food vendors
- EFTPOS machines and stallholder supplies

Medium Events (16–35 kVA)
Designed for events that need more muscle. This level of power suits regional festivals, sporting events, and concerts where vendors and entertainment run side by side.
A medium package handles:
- Stage lighting and professional sound systems
- 10–20 market or food stalls
- Multiple coffee carts or small cool rooms
- Site lighting for pathways and entrances

Large Events (50–100+ kVA)
For big shows and festivals that run into the night. With this scale, you’re supporting thousands of attendees, and reliability is non-negotiable. These systems are designed to run continuously, keeping performers, vendors, and crowds comfortable and safe.
A large event setup can power:
- Main stage lighting and audio rigs
- Full food villages with multiple vendors
- Several large cool rooms
- Site-wide lighting and facilities
How does it work?
Plan
We start with a quick call and a look at your site map. From there, we calculate your load requirements, decide on generator size (if needed) , and prepare a layout that fits your site.
Deliver & setup
On event day, we bring in the boards and cabling. Our crew handles the placement, grounding, and weather covers, then runs voltage and safety switch tests before handing it over.
Operate
For events that need extra support, we can stay on to manage fuel, provide a standby tech, or carry out roaming checks. You look after the event, and we’ll make sure the power keeps running.
Pack-Down
When it wraps up, we shut everything down safely, remove cabling, tidy the routes, and finish with test sheets. The site is cleared and left safe to use.
Powering events, creating memories.
We provide services around Invermay, Newstead, South Launceston, Kings Meadows, Trevallyn, Prospect, Ravenswood, Norwood, Youngtown, Mowbray, West Launceston and the wider Tamar Valley/Northern Tasmania.
A long history
Our team has worked in Launceston homes for decades. We know how different houses are put together, from older builds to modern renovations, and how to carry out the work without turning your week upside down. That experience shows in the planning, the detail, and the finish.
Fully licensed
Your job is carried out by licensed electricians who keep up with current Australian Standards. Test instruments are calibrated, paperwork is supplied and you can reach us if you have a question later. It is electrical work done right, with clear accountability.
Trusted by locals
Most of our work comes from people telling friends and family. We keep things simple, turn up when we say, and clean up before we leave. If something needs a tweak after the fact, we come back and sort it.
Our clients speak for us
They turned up got the job done and was non stop until everything was done as expected. I Will use this company again in the future. Well deserved 5 stars.
On the day the job was completed quickly with advice on what will need doing down the track to maintain our electricity efficiency.
He was too helpful, brought my bins in for me & took care of me like I was family, he delivered quality craftsmanship & even had time to help me put my slippers on when the afternoon cooled off.
Great bloke & I hope to one day call him a mate.
Have a question?
Do I need three-phase power for food vans or stages?
It depends on the load. Small vans and stalls usually run on single-phase, but stages, sound rigs, and bigger food setups often need three-phase for stability. We’ll check what your vendors and contractors need before locking in your setup.
We also look at the whole site load so no circuit gets pushed too far. Our team balances the power so vendors and performers run smoothly without tripping. If needed, we’ll provide both single-phase and three-phase outlets.
Can you stay on site during the event?
Yes. For bigger or higher-risk events, we can provide a standby technician. They handle refuelling, check loads, and step in straight away if anything changes. This way, you don’t need to worry about technical issues while you run the event. We can also do roaming checks to catch small problems early. This service is especially helpful for multi-day festivals or events with more complex setups.
Do you handle cable ramps and safety barriers?
Yes. We supply event-grade ramps for people and vehicles, plus barriers to keep the site safe. This keeps foot traffic moving and stops cables from being damaged by vehicles or gear. All ramps and barriers are installed to meet safety rules, lowering risks for organisers. We also make sure everything is packed down properly at the end.
Are you compliant with AS/NZS 3002 and Test & Tag requirements?
Yes. Every setup follows AS/NZS 3002, and all gear is Test & Tagged before use. This keeps your event covered for compliance and insurance. We keep full records and can provide them if inspectors or insurers ask. Our team also stays up to date with changes to the standards, so your setup is always current.
